Stroke is the number one “killer” of human health, and is the leading cause of death and disability worldwide. Obtaining diagnosis and treatment during the golden time window is crucial for stroke patients. CT is the preferred imaging examination for stroke patients. However, the current spiral CT is bulky and expensive, making it difficult for primary hospitals to allocate resources and severely affecting the treatment effect of critical diseases such as stroke. There is an urgent need to develop a small, low-cost CT device.
The goal of the project is to develop a new generation of small, low-cost AI digital CT system.
The project achieves the goal of miniaturization and lightweight design of equipment through innovative imaging architecture design. It develops new CBCT reconstruction algorithms and AI image processing algorithms to improve the clarity of soft tissue imaging while reducing hardware costs, meeting the clinical diagnostic accuracy requirements of diseases such as cerebral hemorrhage.
This project is the first research and development project in the world based on AI image processing for digital CBCT, which will significantly improve the soft tissue imaging effect of CBCT. It is also the first digital imaging solution for stroke patients located in primary medical institutions, which will win valuable time for stroke patients in primary care. It is expected to have excellent application prospects in primary medical care, pre-hospital emergency care for stroke, neurological monitoring, and mobile medical diagnosis and treatment, replacing existing spiral CT in some specialized fields such as stroke detection.
