Chronic wounds cost the NHS more than £5billion in direct health costs alone. There is also the added burden of immobility and the social consequences of ill health and amputation. This project is to assess the feasibility and real-world implementation of a home-based, AI-powered solution for patients to assess their own wounds. This means they have an objective assessment, access to cutting-edge diagnostics and can take charge of their own health. We will assess the health economic outcomes of remote self-care, and the quality of life improvement by going further with a chronic condition through supported self management.
