Mysurable has created the mioTest® system, an innovative, cloud-based solution to detect sarcopenia. Sarcopenia is the excessive muscular mass loss, age-related, one of main causes of frailty in the elderly. It can lead to disability and worsen important chronic diseases such as diabetes.
Sarcopenia is mostly asymptomatic, early diagnosis is essential to prevent and limit its effects.
mioTest® base version, which only detects the risk to develop sarcopenia, is already operative in pilot centers. It works on a cloud-based SW and includes SARC-F, walking speed and hand grip tests.
To diagnose sarcopenia however more in-dept measurements are necessary and Mysurable is developing the Advanced version that adds Bioelectrical Impedance Vector Analysis via an innovative and unique bioimpedance meter specifically designed for elderly (patented). It’s also foreseen the introduction of a new dynamic hand grip. This set of test is strongly recommended by scientific community, mainly by EWGOSOP (Sarcopenia: revised European consensus on definition and diagnosis – 2019) vs more invasive and expensive tools like DXA, CT and MRI.
